Running is my therapy. When I need to get away, I hit the pavement. Sometimes I literally hit the pavement. I fall more than an adult should.
Anyway, I saw a Facebook friend was using this app called Charity Miles to run. I normally use Run Keeper.
Run Keeper keeps your pace, distance, time, and your records.
Charity Miles keeps up with your time and distance, but it also claims to give money to the charity of your choice for each mile you run, walk, or bike. You get $.10 for biking a mile and $.25 for running or walking.
For my run today, I chose the Wounded Warrior Project.
After running 4 miles, I stopped the App. I expected it to say something like, "Way to go! You just raised $1.00 for Wounded Warrior Project." But, it didn't. It gave me a post to put on Facebook that said I was a sponsored runner.
So, truly, I don't know if it worked. I never got a confirmation that the money was given to WWP, but I'm hopeful it did.
I recommend checking this out if you are a runner. I will say, knowing that each mile was worth a quarter, kept me going. I felt like stopping around mile 3 today, but I finished strong and completed 4 miles.
Please let me know if you have heard about this, or have proof that it works! I want to know more!

Fun Times Hunting with Michael
Friday, Michael took me hunting. I've helped him put up a deer stand before, but this was the first time I actually got up in the deer stand with him.
Hunting is not really anything I've ever been that interested in doing.
I do not all understand why anyone would ever want to get up at 4:00 AM to go hang out 10 feet up in the air and look for Bambi. If Michael had tried to actually get me up at 4, I would never had agreed to go. Since he wanted me to go on an afternoon hunt, I obliged.
So, off into the woods we went.

We walked about half a mile to the deer stand. Now, I don't consider myself afraid of heights, but deer stands scare me. They just don't seem that secure. Nevertheless, up we went.
This was our view from the stand. I grew up watching Bambi, so I couldn't help but notice the similarities between this location and the meadow in Bambi.

Unfortunately, we did not see any deer. I was a little disappointed, because that would have been exciting. I was really hoping to see Michael in action.
All in all, we had fun.
The only annoying thing is the fact that we kept stepping on these prickly things that we apparently brought back with us in our clothing.

100 Things to Eat in Memphis: Sakura's Joyce Roll
It's back! We finally went to another place on the 100 Things to Eat in Memphis Before You Die list.
Tonight's treat: The Joyce Roll at Sakura in East Memphis.
HOLY SMOKES! This is my favorite thing on the list so far!
It's deep fried sushi with crawfish, shrimp tempura, avocado, fish eggs, and a delicious sauce.

This is a must try. Even if you aren't a sushi person, there is no way you won't like this!

Reasons for Miscarriage and Back to School
As you can imagine, I have been on a mission to arm myself with miscarriage knowledge.
After the first miscarriage, I didn't research too much. I heard from so many people who had one miscarriage, then went on to have a beautiful baby. I assumed I would be like one of those people.
Since that is not the case, I am now reading, reading, and reading more to find out why this happened to us.
This is one of the best articles I've seen on the topic.
Monday, I go back to the doctor to make sure everything is back to normal. I am not 100% sure, but when I called yesterday, the nurse told me the doctor would try to do some blood work. I pray this gives us some answers.
We'll have to go back in the ultrasound room again. This freaks me out. We have yet to get good news from inside one of those rooms. On movies and TV, it's always the future mom and dad holding hands and smiling at each other as they hear a heartbeat. I long to experience that. The ultrasound room has brought us nothing but sadness.
On the plus side, I went back to school today. Some of my fellow teachers knew about what had happened, others did not. A few asked how I was doing. I just said that I was okay as long as I didn't talk about it. My kids were amazing today. They all greeted me with smiles. One girl almost tackled me with a hug and another said to me that she missed me "so much." Neither knew exactly how much those words meant to me. I made it through the day without a tear, so I call it a success!
I ordered a book yesterday. It's for a group that I am planning to join in January for women who are having similar reproductive issues. I can't wait to get the book in the mail.
Love,
C

Sick Days are No Fun
I've been stuck in my house for more than 48 hours.
Except for leaving for 15 minutes to run an errand, I've been on my couch watching a lot of TV.
I am miserable. I want to be out and about.
Growing up, being home from school was a lot more fun.
I know that my reason for being stuck at home is a lot more awful than a cold, but sick days used to be kind of fun.
I remember watching Price is Right on sick days. Man I loved that show. I didn't even mind sitting through the commercials.
I think that's part of the problem now. DVR has me spoiled, and having to watch TV in real time just sucks.
Also, there's not much on these days. Bob Barker isn't on Price is Right, so I'm not interested in that.
I'm basically flipping between news channels and HGTV.
Oh, and I'm blogging.

Again
It happened again. Miscarriage #2.
At almost the exact same time as our first little one stopped growing, this one did too.
Michael and I are heartbroken and confused.
We don't know why. We are hoping upcoming testing gives us some sort of answer.
That said...
It's easy to ask, "Why?" when things go badly.
But truly we don't deserve anything, so we should be asking God this question when things go well.
I don't deserve to have the wonderful life I currently have. I should feel blessed for that alone.
A baby would have been a beautiful miracle to add to our wonderful life. I hope one day it happens.
Until then, I praise God for what he has given us.
Please keep us in your prayers.

Haven't Been in the Mood
I haven't been in the mood to do much in a while.
Here's some of the things I haven't felt like doing.
Running - Good thing Running Club is over.
Putting Laundry Up - I've been pulling things out the dryer to wear.
Blogging - I couldn't even think of anything to write about.
Grocery Shopping - Thank goodness for restaurants and peanut butter.
Exercising - I spend a lot of time on the couch these days.
Tweezing my Eyebrows - I apologize in advance for the unibrow.
Cleaning the House - Yeah, it's not pretty.
Here are some of the things I have felt like doing!
Eating - So, you can see how that's a problem with the lack of exercise!
Sleeping - Naps are amazing.
Watching TV - TOO MUCH!
Watching the Grizzlies - Thank goodness they are back!
Shopping - Michael isn't a fan.
Tweeting/Facebooking my Views on Politics - Probably shouldn't do that so much!
Playing Trivia - Even though I'm terrible, I love to be there with Michael!
Hopefully soon I'll something more meaningful to write about!
